This session will cover the basic aerodynamics of aircraft and rockets along with the associated history. Attendees will build a Eular angle model, straw rockets, and balsa gliders. We'll wind tunnel test to find the CP and CG, show you how to trim for flight, and provide you with data collection examples for your classroom. We'll be covering basic aerodynamics, physics, a little bit of chemistry, along with proper methods, materials, and safety. This workshop is held in the hangar of the Experimental Aircraft Association on the west end of Logan Airport. The hangar is a heated working museum, located 1/4 mile east of the water tower, turn north on Overlook Drive, and proceed to Gate 29. Snacks will be provided along with a tour of the hangar which represents the many donations of Colonel Borman of Gemini 7, Apollo 8, and the local aviation community.
