Name
Bringing the outside in: How to leverage students’ community-based knowledge for math learning
Description
Students come into our classrooms with a wealth of informal knowledge and experience, but it can be hard to know how to leverage this community-based knowledge for math learning. In this session we’ll share research on community-based knowledge in Montana communities, and share strategies from Montana teachers for using community-based knowledge as assets for math learning.
