The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center has been spewing the history of the Corps of Discovery for 25 years. It took millions of dollars and congress’ financial support for this facility to go from a dream to a reality. One of the many ways we’ve shared our success is through educational programs and outreach. One of our popular programs is To Bleed or Not to Bleed, where we explore 1800s medical treatments. For this presentation, we’ll poke into the hidden horrors of how symptoms and aliments were treated with replica items, demonstrations, and a hands-on activity where you decide the treatment of history’s most iconic explorers. The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center is like a jewel embedded in a crown, one of many fabulous facets in a wide array of educational offerings provided by the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. Come join Katya and Cortney to explore more about classroom opportunities and outreach.
