Name
Read Like a Writer, and Write Like a Reader
Description
Good writers emulate good writing, and by doing so, writers can improve syntax, punctuation, and voice. This session will model the process of reading like a writer and writing like a reader with excerpts of text that exhibit interesting syntax, punctuation, and voice. Session attendees will engage in an interactive workshop and walk away with a ready to go lesson plan to implement in their K-16 classrooms. This particular lesson is taught at the college level but can be modified to fit any English language arts grade level.
