Culturally Relevant Curriculum – Examples from the Mathematics Education Literature
Description
In this presentation, we will explore the importance of incorporating diverse cultural perspectives and experiences into math education. Through a literature review of recent research, we will share examples of culturally relevant curriculum and activities and how such curriculum can foster the development of students’ mathematical identities and their engagement in academic. We will also host a discussion with participants on challenges and possible solutions relate to the development, adaptation and implementation of culturally responsive lessons and activities.
