Name
Using Standards-Based Grading In A Traditional Grading System
Description
What do grades mean? Why do we grade the way we do? This course is designed to facilitate a conversation about grading practices and their effectiveness. It also provides an introduction into standards-based grading and how to begin implementing it in the classroom. Even in a system that does not incorporate standards-based grading, educators can still apply standards-based grading practices within their classrooms, and this course gives strategies on how to do so. By implementing standards-based grading, the learning intentions and success criteria become more visible, and grades therefore have more meaning to both educators and students.
