Name
Algebra Tiles 3 Ways
Description

This is a basic introduction to Algebra tiles with 3 short lessons. These lessons will all appear in the Algebra 1 curriculum and the concepts will be useful for pre-Algebra through Algebra 2. In this session I will cover: 1. Using algebra tiles to represent and solve linear equations 2. Using algebra tiles to represent multiplying linear binomials and factoring quadratic equations 3. Using algebra tiles to complete the square Algebra tiles are a great way of visually representing mathematical concepts that are often taught procedurally. The visual representation can then be physically manipulated to add context to the procedures that we teach. These concepts will be relevant to teachers in grades 7-12.
