Teigan Avery is the Program Officer for Democracy Programs, a role in which she supports the Mansfield Center's Ethics and Public Affairs mandate. She fosters civic engagement on the rights and responsibilities of American citizenship through the lens of Senator Mike Mansfield's statesmanship.
She is from Kalispell, Montana, and has a master’s degree in Economics and bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Economics with University Distinction from the Davidson Honors College. She has experience working as a public health researcher, a substitute teacher, and a state team leader for Common Power. Her work with Common Power, an organization that fosters and amplifies democracy and justice, developed her skills in community building and democracy building by leading volunteers on voter engagement and issue advocacy in Montana, Georgia, and Texas. She also has been engaged at the local level in municipal public service, is a board member of the Missoula Housing Authority, and is a neighborhood council member. Teigan played intercollegiate athletics at the University of Montana as a golfer for the Griz.
