Speaker Bio
Paola Torres Huayhualla is a dedicated educator and advocate for equitable language learning. She teaches Spanish at Montana State University and co-leads "Bridging Cultures," a program supporting BSD7 employees working with multilingual learners. She also collaborates with Dr. Sally Moyce from the MSU Department of Nursing on research. Her focus is exploring how language proficiency, immigration status, and state law impact relationships and support systems for immigrant communities.
Paola is currently pursuing a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction at MSU. Her contributions to language education were recently recognized with the PNCFL 2025 Outstanding Contributions to the Teaching of World Languages award and the 2023 Award for Excellence in Community Engagement from Montana State University.
