Name
Multiliteracies Framework for Interpretive Commuication
Description

The Multiliteracies Framework allows World Language teachers to profoundly frame authentic resources for true interpretive communication that goes beyond simple comprehension. The framework includes four phases-- preparation, conceptualization, analysis, and application-- that helps teachers to create engaging lessons around a variety of authentic texts. Multiliteracies increase the literacy included in the World Language classroom and helps bridge the gap between secondary and university level language classes. In the session, teachers will experience the framework firsthand as a "student" and then learn how to develop and apply the framework to new or existing authentic texts within their curriculum.
