Name
Whooping Cranes and the Imperative of a Changing “Place” in the ELA Classroom
Description

Ecocriticism is an essential lens for revealing the interrelationships between nature and culture and for providing students with the agency necessary to adapt to climate change. We will explore the rationale for ecocriticism, examine how writers establish textual relationships to the nonhuman world, and witness a whooping crane’s narrative, how it intersects and instructs our own.
