Description
The session will provide an overview of the Census at School platform sponsored by the American Statistical Association. The platform allows students to generate their own data as well as analyze data from students across the country and around the world. Lesson ideas for utilizing this platform to address data analysis standards in grades 4 through 12 will be shared with attendees, including basic analysis such as bar and circle graphs as well as more advanced analysis such as box plots, histograms, and standard deviation. The presenter will share an example of a book compiled by her 8th grade class entitled "Students Around the World," which was the culmination of a multi-disciplinary project utilizing Census at School data.
