Name
Statistical inference without the formulas! Simulation-based inference
Description
The new Montana Math Standards incorporate statistical reasoning and concepts throughout the grades. In the high school Core Plus standards, students are introduced to statistical inference through modeling and simulation. Simulation-based inference has emerged as a key tool for teaching statistics because it engages students in authentic statistical reasoning, without having to wade through complicated formulas. This session will introduce and explain simulation-based reasoning with classroom ready activities.
