Montana's NEW Standards for Mathematical Practice
Description
The new Montana Math Standards introduce an updated set of mathematical practices: Problem solving and perseverance, Abstracting and generalizing, Justifying and proving, Mathematical modeling, Representing, Collaborative mathematics, and Cultural connections. In this session, we’ll explore these practices, discuss their purpose in math classrooms, and delve into what it looks like for students to participate in the practices. The session will include time for grade-band discussions about the mathematical practices (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12).
