Name
Scoring and Grading – Where Does an “A” End and a “B” Begin?
Description
In this session, participants will look at alternatives to the traditional 0-100% grading system. A variety of rubric-based scoring systems will be shared to promote discussion on methods for calculating final end-of-grading-period letter grades based on the student scores received. Discussion will center on the wide range of possible scenarios that can occur with each individual student and how to determine fair and equitable methods for calculating a final letter grade that is representative of what the student knows and is able to do within the content of the class.
