Julie Jeffers is a proud descendant of the Little Shell Chippewa Tribe of Montana and Nakota. She recently graduated from Salish Kootenai College, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Tribal Historic Preservation. Julie serves as an Indian Education Specialist at the Montana Office of Public Instruction, bringing a wealth of experience and cultural knowledge to her role.
With decades of dedicated work with children and schools—including roles as a preschool teacher, special education aide, and Indian Education for All (IEFA) advocate—Julie is passionate about enhancing educational opportunities for Native students. Her recent position as an Indian Education Home to School Coordinator for School District 2 in Billings provided her valuable insights into community engagement and educational support, which she now continues to build upon on the Flathead Reservation.
Julie is furthering her education through a Graduate Certificate in Native American Studies at Montana State University, Bozeman. Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, spending quality time with her family and dogs, and celebrating her cultural heritage.
