Name
Eastern Montana Museum Educator Guide
Description

In 2024 the Carter County Museum received a multi-year grant from the Foundation for Montana History to build an Educator's Guide to facilitate instruction with local museums across Eastern Montana. By fall 2026, three guides will be completed: K-8 History, 9-12 History, and K-12 Science (focused around the theme of the energy industry and connection to ancient life). Within each guide, teachers can find digital resource kits from Eastern Montana museums that they can use in their classrooms in concert with an outreach kit from partner museums including Blaine County Museum, Carter County Museum, the Cheyenne Museum at St. Labre, Culbertson Museum, Great Plains Dinosaur Museum, O'Fallon Historical Museum, Phillips County Museum, Powder River Historical Museum, Range Riders Museum, Terry Museums, and WaterWorks. In total, the lessons represent 10 counties and include subjects of elementary history and science, 9-12 Social Studies and Science, and several that incorporate IEFA standards.
