Description
New teachers are often given the advice to keep your head down, say yes to everything, and don't make any waves. The reality is that being a new or non-tenured teacher doesn't mean you don't have rights and you can be fired for any reason (it mainly means that you don't have the expectation of getting a contract for the next year), but you do have most of the same rights of veteran teachers. This session will discuss how you can get what you deserve from your school district, get the respect and support you need, connect with fellow educators, and survive your first 3 years as a non-tenured teacher. Non-tenured doesn't mean you don't deserve to be treated as a professional educator!
