Description
Firing can be the most daunting part of a ceramics lesson for many educators. Kilns are specialized equipment that can be dangerous when used improperly. However, these amazing machines become much less intimidating with knowledge and techniques to use and maintain them properly. This will be a lecture on how to use and care for your kiln, including a dialog to encourage educators to bring their own questions about firing and kiln care up for discussion, and sharing of resources. Feeling comfortable with your kiln can make the possibility of ceramics in the classroom feel much more approachable!
