SPARKing Student Research: Bringing Public Health and Air Quality Science into the Classroom
Description
This session will introduce teachers to SPARK, Students Participating in Air Research and Knowledge Translation, an NIH SEPA-funded program focused on public health, air quality, wildfire smoke, and student research. Participants will learn about the SPARK curriculum, how students can develop and conduct research projects connected to real-world public health questions, and how the program culminates in a student symposium where students present their work to peers and public health and university partners. This session will offer a practical overview of how SPARK can support inquiry-based science learning, career exploration, and student engagement in public health issues that matter to their communities.
