How can we ensure that every student—regardless of background—has access to meaningful college credit, career exploration, and a clear plan for what comes next? This session highlights a proven, scalable model for integrating dual enrollment, career readiness, and academic coursework through the Forge Your Future initiative. Participants will explore how courses like BGEN 194 (Career Exploration) can be used across disciplines—not just in CTE—to help students better understand their strengths, connect learning to real-world opportunities, and build confidence in their future pathways. The session will also introduce a 15-credit Employability Certificate, designed to provide students with a transcripted, workforce-aligned credential that complements both academic and technical programs and aligns with emerging opportunities through the STARS Act. Attendees will learn how intentional partnerships between K–12 schools, higher education, and workforce partners can remove barriers to access, streamline enrollment, and create clear pathways from classroom learning to postsecondary success. Practical strategies—including “Enrollment & Student Success Days,” early outreach to students, and integration of career readiness competencies (NACE-aligned) into courses like math, statistics, and general education—will be shared. Real examples will demonstrate how these approaches increase student engagement, persistence, and direction—especially for students who may not yet see themselves as “college-bound.” Participants will leave with adaptable tools and strategies to expand dual enrollment access, embed career-connected learning into existing courses, and help students truly forge their future.
