Backed by published research, this session includes a one-year implementation update, sharing real examples from developing a high school studio art program and restructuring K–7 classes to prioritize choice, experimentation, and student-driven learning. Participants will gain insight into what worked, what evolved, and how these shifts support greater creativity and independence across grade levels. This session includes a low-stakes art-making experience designed to encourage experimentation, prioritize the joy of creation over product completion, and reconnect educators with their own creative practice. Participants will walk away with practical, classroom-tested strategies and renewed inspiration to support creativity, reignite their identity as artists, and reduce burnout in their teaching practice.
