Name
The History Museum & Research Center in Great Falls, MT Resources for Teachers
Description

The mission of The History Museum & Research Center is to preserve and share the history of North Central Montana. This session will provide an overview of archival record types, object categories, and education collections present at the museum. Also, the process for research requests will be presented. State curriculum emphasizes Montana history in grades 4-6. Indigenous history is part of curriculum in many ways. The two textbooks, “Montana: Stories of the Land” and “Montana: A History of Our Home,” have corresponding/supporting historic images and sometimes associated documents and objects in our collections. Tours and other programming also are available through the museum staff. This presentation will acquaint educators with the museum and its resources.
