During this session, we will explore two culturally rich, UDL-based French lessons that empower students’ intercultural voices through music, art, and creative production. These lessons, one featuring Joséphine Baker’s song “J’ai deux amours” and the other focusing on the Dada movement, were designed for online instruction but are easily adapted for in-person teaching. Both lessons demonstrate how authentic cultural resources can inspire both creativity and deeper cultural understanding, while also providing a clear pathway for instructors to address all five Montana World Languages Content Standards. Participants will try key activities and leave with resources and strategies they can adapt to their own classrooms. While the artifacts are in French, the structure can be applied to any World Language.
