Name
Understanding the 2026 Montana World Language State Standards
Description
Woo hoo! Montana has new World Language standards--the first of its kind since 1999! In this session, participants will start by defining and identifying the following ACTFL concepts that the state standards are built on: the three modes of communication, the 5 C's, the inverted proficiency triangle, and can-do statements. They will then have time to explore the standards themselves, specifically for the ACTFL concepts. Finally, participants will align an activity to the performance descriptors and use this information to create a student-friendly rubric. Come explore and apply the new standards together! Please bring a computer to participate in the exploration and rubric activities.
