The Gift of the Bitterroot – IEFA in World Language, TPR, and Storytelling
Description
Learn the Salish and Pend d’Oreille story of “The Gift of the Bitterroot,” as told by Johnny Arlee, and how to use this story in the World Language classroom as a way to incorporate IEFA. We will use Total Physical Response (TPR), drawing, and a discussion of Products, Practices, and Perspectives for cultural analysis. These tools allow us to integrate some of the 7 Essential Understandings from IEFA. These techniques can be adapted for any L2.
