History has been shaped by whoever held the pen, leading readers in Montana down a path focused on successful homesteaders, titans of industry, land developers, and government leaders. While acknowledging their importance, many other threads are of equal interest and importance. Drawing on stories from Disturbing the Sleeping Buffalo, a book of creative non-fiction stories of Montana, and short video clips from tribal educators, attendees will be engaged in considering many other viewpoints about commonly taught eras of history.
