Name
MCSS Featured Session: Finding and Using Regional Primary Source Content
Description
This session is designed to “demystify the archives” and help teachers find and incorporate primary sources (letters, photographs, oral histories, maps, and more) into their instruction. In this hands-on session, participants will use a curated selection of Western Montana-focused physical materials from the University of Montana’s Archives and Special Collections as the basis for guided brainstorming around inquiry-driven engagement and lesson planning. The majority of the content presented in the session will also be available online, and a small amount of the session will be dedicated to demonstrating how to access online local and regional primary source resources.
