Learn how Writing Coaches of Montana (WCM) makes a positive difference in students' writing proficiency. WCM is a community-based nonprofit organization committed to supporting students as writers and thinkers. Trained community volunteers work one-on-one with students on writing assignments that require critical thinking and revision. To discover how WCM affects the quality of students' writing we conducted a research project and found significant improvement in the writing of students who received coaching compared to students who did not receive coaching. In this session, Dr. Beverly Chin shares the research model and discusses how students and educators can benefit from partnering with WCM.
