Protocols with Potential: Discover Proven Strategies for Engaging and Effective Writing Instruction
Description
Writing is a crucial skill, but it can be challenging for both students and teachers. This workshop introduces a collection of simple yet powerful writing structures that can be used across the curriculum to enhance both writing and thinking. Developed and refined over ten years in Kalispell Public Schools, these proven protocols have helped students in grades six through twelve develop strong skills in both informative and argumentative writing while gaining confidence in their writing abilities. Employing common language and easy-to-use templates, these structures are adaptable for any subject area and can be used for both short and longer writing assignments. Participants will leave this session with ready-to-use graphic organizers, student-friendly rubrics, and sample outlines.
