Description
Let's have fun with hands-on skip counting to teach multiplication! Learn the basics of multiplication including skip counting with objects and images and counting on fingers that lead to the symbolic multiplication of basic facts. Learn how to extend students' learning of basic facts into horizontal multiplication 2, 3 and 4 digit by 1 digit as well as 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication. This workshop is designed for teachers Grades 3-5, but can be helpful for upper grade teachers to help students fill in the foundational gaps of learning. Grades 1-2 teachers can benefit to help prepare students to multiply in the older grades.
