Description
Research demonstrates that young students who understand how to place numbers on a number line have greater success in mathematics later in life. Learn how to teach simple activities to all students in order to develop number sense, place value understanding of numbers from 1 to 10, 1 to 20, 1 to 100, 1 to 1 000+, fractions, decimal numbers and more. Learn how to incorporate adding, subtracting and skip counting on the number line to develop mental math skills. Several manipulatives can be used such as paper, rope, measuring tapes, thermometers, and more. Many activities can also be taught outdoors.
