By creating a fun, relaxed environment, games foster engagement in skill-building, emotional processing, and communication. In this session, participants will learn how to adapt classic board games for group and individual settings to teach essential social-emotional skills like flexible thinking, growth mindset, self-regulation, and more. Attendees will leave with actionable ideas to transform their own common board games into effective tools for SEL programming.
Learning Objectives:
1. Discover strategies to adapt and modify over 15 classic board games into effective tools for skill-building.
2. Create a plan to repurpose a game you already own to teach SEL skills effectively.
