Empowering the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs: The Prospects Statewide Competition
Description
Montana’s students are brimming with innovative ideas—and The Prospects is where those ideas take flight. This session will introduce educators to The Prospects, a statewide virtual entrepreneurship competition that engages K-12 students in real-world problem-solving, creative thinking, and business development. From launching new ventures to addressing community challenges like childcare access, The Prospects offers multiple entry points for students to demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset—and earn scholarships and cash prizes along the way.
As a high school business teacher and advocate for hands-on learning, I will share how this program ignites student engagement, fosters practical skill development, and builds meaningful connections between classrooms and business leaders across Montana. Attendees will leave with resources, project ideas, and clear steps to integrate The Prospects into their own curriculum, regardless of subject area.
Whether your students are designing businesses, reimagining vacant lots, or hacking solutions for their schools, this competition is a powerful tool for empowering young changemakers.
