Description
American society’s increase in ethnic textures, interracial tension, immigrants, religion, gender, disability, ability, and students who speak languages other than English as their first language prolongs the pedagogical challenges teachers encounter in the classroom due to diversity, thus, calling for the implementation of culturally responsive practices which is influence by existing socio-political factors. I explored the influence of the current socio-political climate in the U.S. on social studies instructional gatekeepers’ implementation of culturally responsive practices.
