Name
Art & Adaptation: Transforming Art among the Apsaalooke (Crow Nation)
Description

Developed by a team of Apsaalooke scholars and interviewers, “Art & Adaptation” is a program created by the American Indian Tribal Histories Project, and used by Western Heritage Center staff to provide community and professional education. Heather will take you on a guided tour of the incredible history of Crow Nation arts, and will incorporate the work of 20th century and contemporary artists. From dance and music, to fashion and parading, the traditions and innovations of the Apsaalooke people give us insight into our land, modern artistic practices, and Montana culture as a whole. Sample touchable artifacts will be available.
