Alicia Hakes is a special education teacher and educational leader at Glacier Gateway Elementary in Columbia Falls, Montana. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and is deeply committed to building trauma-responsive schools where every student feels safe, supported, and ready to learn. Alicia’s work focuses on integrating trauma-informed practices, the PAX Good Behavior Game, and EMOTE behavioral data to strengthen Tier 1 and Tier 2 supports within MTSS frameworks.

With extensive experience supporting students with behavioral and emotional needs, Alicia works closely with teachers and school teams to develop practical strategies that prioritize student regulation, connection, and engagement before instruction. She is passionate about helping educators understand the science of stress and behavior and translating research into realistic classroom practices.

Alicia is also a mentor to educators and an advocate for inclusive, compassionate school communities that support both students and staff.
